Practical Paleo is now a New York Times Bestseller!

I started my Monday morning today much like I usually do: checking my social media outlets, sipping kombucha, reviewing sales rankings of Practical Paleo on and checking out the most current week's New York Times Bestseller list for paperback books in advice.

And there it was – bam – smack dab in the center of the page at #7…

Practical Paleo made the New York Times Bestseller list!

The paperback advice NYT Bestseller list is a tough one to crack! There are books on this list for weeks, months, and even years at a time. It's not the same type of competition as even hard cover books – it's tough!

Your continued support has made this possible.

I wrote this book for you, for your families, friends, and loved ones. I knew that it was something that the community at-large needed – something you could pass over to anyone interested in improving their health. I planned for Practical Paleo to serve as an all-in-one guide to doing just that. This is the one book you can hand to just about anyone and say, “here, just do this.”

Thank you for sharing this book with others. I can't even begin to count how many times people have told me that they've given the book away several times already, and plan on buying it for many on their holiday shopping lists as well. If you care about the health of others, Practical Paleo serves as their reference, support guide, and how-to for making it happen.

Once again, I need to say a huge thank you to my amazing friends Bill Staley & Hayley Mason (of The Food Lovers Kitchen), authors of the upcoming book, Gather: The Art of Paleo Entertaining.

Bill & Hayley worked tirelessly with me on creating and shooting photos of recipes for the book, and provided unconditional support throughout the entire process. I was lucky enough to help them out with one of the shoots for Gather, and I can say that even if you only get a copy for the Chinese food recipes alone, it'll be money well spent! All kidding aside, the sneak preview I had of the book made one of the most popular questions I get – “How can I make Paleo food for (insert holiday or occasion here) that everyone will enjoy?” – the easiest one of all to answer: Gather: The Art of Paleo Entertaining will be your guide!

Thanks again for your continued support of Practical Paleo! I look forward to updating you all more as more news is available and even more good things come from this amazing movement!

You can find Practical Paleo online at and Barnes & Noble, in large chain shops like Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million and other chains, in independent book shops and in all Costco stores nationwide!

  2. I am SO happy for you! I’ve been Paleo for almost a month, and yours is the third book I’ve read so far. I wish it had been out a couple of months ago, because it would have been the only one I’d have needed! I hope to buy more copies to share with others. It’s gorgeous and thorough. Thanks!

  3. Congrats! I have honestly bought five copies already for gifts for those I care a lot about. For sure to buy more this Christmas season as well.

  4. Congratulations! This is my go to book! My partner calls it “my bible” – I read parts of it almost every day and learn more and more about nutrition – It is my total nerd and geek out book that has helped my nutrition leaps and bounds! Thanks for all of the hard work that you have put into this book! – It is super fab!

  5. WOW, congrats! I just found your blog via – you and Clare both post some excellent recipe ideas. I look forward to reading more, as I’m always looking for healthy living ideas for my own blog posts!

  6. Very happy for you.

I have just bought 3 copies, one for me and copies for 2 sons and their wives. I already have the e-book version but wanted a ‘real’ book that I could hold in my hands. Excellent book with so much useful information and great recipes.

  7. I just bought this book, I’m new to Paleo and have been struggling to control my Diabetes and lose weight, since going Paleo my sugars are almost normal and definitely under control. I’m also losing weight although still a long way to go.. I love the book, still on the first read and will continue reading it and following the plans…
Thank you for the work you put into it for us. *hug*

  8. I was at my local Barnes & Nobles and noticed that they only carry two paleo cookbooks. Yours is one of them. And, it was well displayed front and center in the vegetarian/vegan cookbook section (which luckily is right next to the section it is supposed to be in). I’m not sure how that happened, but I did find it pretty funny and awesome at the same time. Oh, and your book is absolutely wonderful so I’m glad lots of people are buying it!
