Diane Sanfilippo 21-Day Sugar Detox, What's Up Weekly Leave a Comment

Hi there!

I'm so excited to share that enrollment for the Balanced Bites Master Class will be opening this Monday, June 18th!

For more than 6 years, Liz and I have shared our passion for real food and nutrition through our live events and the Balanced Bites podcast. We traveled the country teaching live seminars, yet folks in areas we could not visit wanted to learn too… And so, the virtual Balanced Bites Master Class was created.

The Balanced Bites Master Class (BBMC) is not about dietary dogma, yes/no lists, or arbitrary rules and restrictions. It is about empowering you with real information to start building the life you want and creating the change you need.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM?
The Balanced Bites Master Class is for anybody who has some background and experience with a real food approach to health and nutrition and who is ready to go even deeper into the whys and hows for real food nutrition.

This class is perfect for you if you've wanted to go deeper your own understanding of nutrition and especially if you've considered going to a multiple months/years-long formalized training. As a BBMC Student, you can get amazing clarity on whether or not a career in nutrition is right for you, before investing thousands of dollars.

STUDENT TRACK?
If you’ve loved learning from us on the podcast but have struggled to fully pull all the bits and pieces of advice and concepts together to feel like you have a really solid foundation of knowledge about real food nutrition…

Or, if you’re interested in potentially becoming a practitioner but aren’t fully sure you’re ready to invest a few thousand dollars in a certification program like the NTA, the Student Track is perfect for you!

COACHES TRACK?
If you are already working with clients the Coaches Track is perfect for you! It’s more in depth and focuses on helping you apply the nutritional concepts we present to your clients. Plus Liz & I share lessons we've learned working with clients and building our businesses with you to support you as you’re building your own health coaching business.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?
The class is comprised of high-quality video modules designed to help you understand the content completely, both with audio and visual components as well as text-based guides for following along and applying the information to your own life.

The student class is $497 and the practitioner class (for coaches) is $1497 (this course has ongoing support and materials that dive deeper into applying the information to your clients as well as business modules and tools / resources to use with clients).

#BBSpices Recipe Highlight – DINER Blend!

I'm sharing some recipe inspiration, featuring a new blend each week. This week the spotlight is on my DINER blend – it's not just for potatoes! 🙂

  1. DINER BLEND BREAKFAST TACOS: Scramble a couple of eggs, sauté some veggies with the DINER blend and whip up some breakfast tacos.(📷:@nourishingholly)
  2. DINER BLEND BREAKFAST SALAD: There are so many possibilities here, but you can start simple – top some shredded lettuce with scrambled eggs, DINER blend-seasoned sausage, avocado & salsa. (📷:@naomijnakamura)
  3. EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK OMELET: combine eggs with spinach, zoodles, cheese, bacon, potatoes, & cream… oh and our DINER blend of course and bake at 350F FOR 10-15 minutes until the eggs have set. (📷:@fitishfoodiemama)
  4. DINER & COFFEE BBQ BLEND WINGS… combining spices for the win – season chicken wings with DINER blend + whatever other spice blend sounds good to you. (📷:@fullbodyfix)

My Fresh Pico Recipe

Mix together the following ingredients. Super easy, fresh, and delicious!

  • 4 Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 a large red onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 large clove of garlic, grated or minced
  • 1/2 a jalapeño, minced
  • Juice of 2-3 limes
  • A few big pinches of coarse Maldon sea salt
  • *optional, a drizzle of Kasandrinos EVOO

p.s. we use lots of glass containers but I have this weird affection for takeout containers that have been refilled with my own food. It feels like it was made more officially somehow. 😂

When you visit a state and @tonykasandrinos is remotely within driving distance, he meets you for lunch. He’s one of the most solid people I know. When we hang, it’s usually in a grocery store where we walk the aisles, check out products and packaging, and plot our next moves. 🙌🏻

We had bunless grassfed burgers today at @wholefoods West Orange today where I also found something exciting… more in my story 😉

My parents made dinner and this is the spread they made. Lamb chops, asparagus, mushrooms, a quinoa salad, and a cucumber salad.

I was (nearly done) eating a steak they had defrosted for me the day before but I had sushi because of a change of plans. Holy cow my steak was amazing, by the way.

And their meal – super legit, easy, real food. This is how my Mom & Dad cook most of the time. Basically they make a protein and 2-3 vegetables. They sometimes make a starch too, but my Aunt Holly brought the quinoa salad.

Parents, listen up. Even if your kids go through a “I’m doing the opposite of what my parents do” phase, they’ll eventually come back to what they saw modeled growing up. Model that you cook real food at home and eat that most often. Set the example, and set the standard. Cook together and share the work (when applicable, of course, if you’re a single parent you’re already crushing it so just do your best). But BE THE EXAMPLE. Don’t take the *easy* route because it feels pointless to try harder. You are their life teacher.

I know some will come at me *but you don’t have kids, you don’t understand.* You’re right. I don’t have them and I’m NOT discounting the degree of difficulty involved here. I recognize that it’s hard. I’m simply emphasizing the importance of doing it despite the difficulty. We *all* sign up for different challenges. We must rise to the occasion. And I believe everyone viewing this is HIGHLY capable of that.
